This article consists of determining the amount of energy that is not used in a fixed solar panel with respect to a movable solar panel (with tracking of the sun). The data collection for this research was carried out at the facilities of the Universidad Nacional del Santa, using two identical panels, one installed in a fixed position and the other with solar tracking varying its hour angle and inclination, taking into account the conditions climatic conditions of each day (clear and cloudless days). Data was taken on days 11, 12, 13, July 19, September 10, 20, 26 and October 07, 10, 22, 23, 24, 25, 28. Thursday, October 10, was one of the days with the most hours of clear sky, a total of 9 hours and 55 minutes, which is why it was used as the basis for the analysis; the percentage of unused power was greater from 8:00 am to 10 :00 a.m. in a range that goes from 13.71% to 47.63% and from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. from 17.24% to 206.63% due to the fact that in those hours the sun's rays hit at an angle.
